Fameswap escrow holds your payment while the account changes hands, and releases it to the seller only after you confirm the account is what was promised. It costs 5 percent of the offer price or $50, whichever is greater, and it is powered by a third party, Payoneer Escrow.

Reviews are mixed and lean positive. On RealReviews.io, Fameswap holds 4.0 out of 5 stars across 41 reviews, and 80 percent of reviewers there recommend it. Happy buyers praise the escrow and the clear handover steps. One wrote that "escrow kept me safe."

The complaints follow a pattern. Reviewers on that site report slow support replies, transfer delays, and verification problems. One said the platform "took my cash and haven't provided access to the account I paid for." Others reported accounts being hacked after purchase, which is what a recovery scam looks like from the buyer's side. These are individual reports, not proof of how a marketplace with thousands of listings behaves overall. But they match the known weak points of the peer-to-peer model.
