Is TikTok Creator Rewards available in Egypt?

No. Egypt is not one of the eight countries where the program runs. Creator Rewards is open in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico. That list is the whole list.

Where you live is the first gate. TikTok's own program terms ask for a legal resident of a country where the program is offered. An Egypt-based account fails that before follower counts matter at all.

The other entry rules only apply once you are inside an eligible country. TikTok's terms set out four:

10,000 authentic followers.

100,000 authentic video views in the last 30 days.

Age 18 or over.

A personal account, not a business or organisation account.

You can hit all four in Cairo and still be locked out. The country check comes first.

This is not about audience size. TikTok's own ad tools showed a potential reach of 48.8 million adults in Egypt in late 2025, which DataReportal's Digital 2026 report puts at 65.5% of all adults aged 18 and over. That is an advertiser estimate, not a head count of users. It grew by 9.81 million people in a year, up 25.2%. A separate count by the Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression puts Egyptian TikTok users at 41.3 million in 2025. Either way, Egypt is a big TikTok market, and it still pays nothing through Creator Rewards. Size is not the qualifier. The country list is.

Why do views from Egypt pay $0?

Because the program pays only for qualified views, and a view from Cairo can never be one. A qualified view is much narrower than a view. Four things have to be true at the same time:

The video is one minute or longer. TikTok's program terms say an eligible video "must be one minute or longer".

The viewer watches for five seconds or more. TikTok's terms also count repeat views from the same account as one view.

The viewer has not marked the video as "not interested".

The viewer is in one of the eight countries.

A view from inside Egypt fails that last test, so it earns nothing. It is a second gate, and it stays shut even after you get through the first one. A creator who moves to the United States still earns $0 on every Egyptian viewer they keep.

Here is the math, and it only works on a video of a minute or longer. Say that video gets 1,000,000 views and 100,000 of them are qualified US views. At a creator-reported $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified US views, it pays about $40 to $100. The other 900,000 views pay nothing.

Now flip it. The same video with 1,000,000 qualified US views pays about $400 to $1,000. Same view count. Ten times the money.

Post that same video at 30 seconds and it pays $0, wherever the viewers sit. Length is a hard floor, and it is easy to miss. More on that on our one-minute rule page.

So an Arabic-language account built for viewers in Egypt earns very little from Creator Rewards, even when the account itself is eligible. The audience is in the wrong place. More on what counts on our qualified views page.

What actually earns money on TikTok in Egypt today?

Brand deals and your own products. Both are open to anyone in Egypt, and neither one waits for TikTok to switch a country on.

TikTok Shop is not an option there. TikTok's own newsroom names the European markets where Shop runs: Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland joined France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK in June 2026. TikTok has announced no Shop market in Egypt. Its Shop announcements to date cover Europe, the US and parts of Asia, and none of them name Egypt. So Shop affiliate commission is not an income route for creators there.

LIVE gifts are the one we cannot answer for you. TikTok's own guidance for LIVE creator networks says some monetization features are only available in selected countries and regions, and that a creator has to live somewhere those features, including LIVE Gifts, are available. It does not publish the country list. So do not trust a blog list here, including ours. Open the LIVE menu in your own app and see what your account is actually offered.

Brand deals have no country switch. A brand pays you directly, in whatever way you agree. Nothing in that deal depends on TikTok's payout map, so the brand decides what your audience is worth.

Selling your own thing works the same way. A service, a course, a product, a booking. TikTok is only the traffic. The money moves through your own checkout.

Buying followers or engagement is not a shortcut to any of this. TikTok's program terms ask for authentic followers and authentic views, so bought numbers do not get an account into Creator Rewards.

Is TikTok still available in Egypt, and what are the risks for creators?

TikTok still works in Egypt. Egyptian politicians have called for a ban more than once, but no nationwide block had been reported as of the Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression's February 2026 research.

In November 2024, MP Essam Diab submitted a motion to the House of Representatives calling for TikTok to be blocked, according to Egyptian Streets. In August 2025, MP Ahmed Badawi of the House telecommunications committee gave TikTok three months to comply with national laws or face a ban, as reported by Techpoint Africa. Human Rights Watch recorded the same MP, whose name it spells Ahmed Badawy, saying on 2 August 2025 that TikTok might be banned if it does not remove content that fails to respect societal values.

Creators in Egypt have also been arrested and prosecuted over what they post.

Human Rights Watch reported that Egyptian authorities arrested or prosecuted at least 29 people between late July and late August 2025, including at least 19 women and a child. The main legal tool was article 25 of Law No. 175 of 2018 on Cybercrime, which HRW says criminalises violating family principles or values in Egyptian society. HRW reports that the charge carries six months to three years in prison plus heavy fines. It recorded a 16-year-old girl sentenced to two years, and one woman and her assistant sentenced to three years with a fine of 100,000 Egyptian pounds, about $2,054.

This is not new or rare. Al-Monitor reported that the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights counted at least 151 people charged under that article across more than 109 cases in five years, and that prosecutors were investigating at least 10 cases of alleged unlawful financial gains.

There is a licensing layer too. Under the 2018 press and media law, social media accounts with more than 5,000 followers have to hold a licence costing 50,000 Egyptian pounds, per an analysis by the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation. The Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression sets out how Press and Media Regulation Law No. 180 of 2018 gives authorities the power to block websites and personal accounts above that 5,000-follower line.

Is Creator Rewards available in Morocco, Tunisia or Algeria?

No. None of the three are on the list of eight, so the answer is the same as Egypt's. Creators there cannot join from home, and views from those countries do not count as qualified views either.

That covers the whole region. No country in North Africa or the Middle East is in Creator Rewards in 2026.

There is one nuance worth knowing in the Maghreb. France is on the list of eight. So French-language videos watched by people who are physically in France can produce qualified views, as long as the video runs over a minute. That helps the account earning the money, but it does not change who is allowed to join. The creator still has to live in one of the eight countries.

It is the same trap in every North African country. You can have a huge, real, engaged audience and earn nothing from the program, because the program pays for where the viewers are, not for how many there are.

How can a creator in Egypt get inside Creator Rewards?

There are two honest routes. Move to one of the eight countries and live there, or run an account that is already based in one of them.

Moving is the clean route. It is also slow and expensive. TikTok's program terms ask for a legal resident of an eligible country, which means an address and local payment details. It is not a setting you change in the app.

A VPN is not a route. It changes your IP address for a session. It does not change where you live or where your money is paid, and those are what the program terms ask about.

The second route is a US-based account. It clears both gates at once. The account is already in an eligible country, and a US audience produces the views that actually pay, at a creator-reported $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified US views.

Now the honest part. TikTok's terms of service tell users not to transfer an account to anyone else without TikTok's permission. Buying or selling an account breaks that rule. It is a platform rule, and TikTok can remove an account that breaks it. No seller can promise it never will.

It is also not a machine that prints money. You still have to post, and the same second gate still applies. If your videos land with Egyptian viewers instead of American ones, a US account earns you very little. If those videos run under a minute, they earn nothing at all. The account fixes eligibility. It does not fix your audience.
