Is TikTok Creator Rewards available in North Macedonia?

No, North Macedonia is not one of the eight countries where Creator Rewards runs, and there is no wait list to join. The eight that pay are the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico. No country in the Balkans is on that list.

Residence is the gate that closes first. TikTok's Creator Rewards Program terms say you must reside in a country where the program is available. They also bar VPNs and any similar tool. An account run from Skopje or Bitola fails that line before anything else gets checked. Our Creator Rewards countries page holds the full list.

The other rules only matter once your country is in. The same terms ask for at least 10,000 authentic followers and at least 100,000 authentic video views over the last 30 days. Business Accounts are ruled out, and the terms set a minimum payment threshold of $50.00 or the local equivalent.

So a Macedonian creator has nothing to fail, because creators outside the eight are never rejected. They simply never see the option, and the app never shows them a payout tab. You can pass 10,000 followers and post every day for a year, and nothing changes.

Why do views from North Macedonia pay $0?

Because the program pays only for qualified views, and a view from inside North Macedonia can never be one. A qualified view is a much narrower thing than a plain view, and several tests have to pass at once.

The viewer has to watch for five seconds or more, and must not have marked the video as not interested. Repeat views from the same account count as one view. TikTok's program terms spell out each of those tests. The video also has to run at least one minute, and our one-minute rule page explains that floor.

Then comes the country test, which asks whether the viewer is in one of the eight paying countries. A view from Skopje fails it, so it earns nothing, and that stays true even when the account posting the video is fully eligible.

Now the numbers. Creators who post their payouts report roughly $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified US views. Say a video pulls 500,000 views, and 50,000 of them are qualified views from the United States. That pays about $20 to $50, and the other 450,000 views pay nothing.

Now flip it, and give the same video 500,000 qualified US views instead. That pays about $200 to $500, which is the same view count for ten times the money. The location of the viewer sets the pay, not the effort behind the video. Our qualified views page walks through every test one by one.

Where does the Macedonian diaspora live, and which of those countries pay?

Germany and the United States hold large Macedonian communities, and both are in the eight. Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Australia hold large communities too, and none of them pay. That split is the most useful fact on this page.

Start with Germany. Eurostat counted 143,680 North Macedonian citizens living in Germany on 1 January 2024, up from 117,969 in 2021. That figure counts passports, not everyone with Macedonian roots, so the real audience is bigger. Germany is one of the eight, so every view from that group can qualify.

The United States is the second paying country that matters. The Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey summary file counts 74,805 people reporting Macedonian ancestry, give or take about 9,000. That is smaller than Germany, but each qualified US view pays at the rate creators talk about most.

Now the countries that do not pay. Switzerland held 67,745 North Macedonian citizens on 1 January 2021, the latest Swiss year in the same Eurostat table. Italy held 49,366 in 2024, and Austria 26,818. None of the three is in the eight, so views from all of them pay $0. Australia is the same story with an older crowd. The 2021 Australian census counted 41,786 people born in North Macedonia, with a median age of 62. That is a community of grandparents more than a TikTok audience, and Australia is not in the eight anyway.

Why is the diaspora share of views so high for a Macedonian creator?

Because the home market is tiny and the diaspora is huge next to it. North Macedonia's 2021 census counted 1,836,713 residents, and the same census counted a non-resident group of 260,606. That group covers citizens away abroad for more than 12 months, plus foreigners passing through for under a year.

Put those numbers together, and Germany alone holds a group of Macedonian citizens equal to about 8 percent of the home population. Switzerland's 2021 figure was close to 4 percent. That is a big diaspora sitting next to a small home market.

For a creator this changes the whole picture. Post in Macedonian and a big slice of your views can arrive from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the United States and Australia. Only the German and American slices can ever pay, and the rest are worth exactly the same as a view from Skopje.

So the content plan writes itself. Make videos for Macedonians living in Germany, and for the community in the United States. Those views can count as qualified views, if an eligible account posts them. Views aimed at Zurich or Melbourne feel just as good, and pay nothing.

How big is TikTok in North Macedonia?

About 733,000 adults, or half of the adult population, and not one of them pays a rate. That is the whole picture in one line, and the detail below only sharpens it.

TikTok's own ad tools reported reach of 733 thousand users aged 18 and over in North Macedonia in late 2025. DataReportal puts that at 50.6 percent of all adults. Treat it as an advertiser estimate rather than a head count, though the direction is still clear.

Growth is steady rather than wild. The same report says TikTok's adult ad reach rose by 41.5 thousand, or 6.0 percent, between the end of 2024 and late 2025. All of that growth happened with no pay-per-view program in the country.

The country behind it is small, online and older than you might guess. DataReportal puts the population at 1.81 million in October 2025, with 1.67 million internet users, or 92.0 percent. The median age is 41.0 years, so the home audience is well connected, but there is not much of it.

Now put that next to the money, and the gap shows. A creator in Brazil needs no diaspora, because home viewers pay, while a creator in Skopje has to look abroad for every cent. Reach and pay are not the same thing, and the gap has nothing to do with talent.

What actually earns money on TikTok in North Macedonia today?

Brand deals and your own products, and both are open to anyone in North Macedonia right now. Neither one waits for TikTok to switch the country on, and both pay in money you control.

TikTok Shop is not on the table. TikTok's newsroom names its European markets. Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland joined France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK from 15 June 2026. North Macedonia is not on that list. TikTok has announced no Shop market there, so affiliate commission is not a route.
