How Much Do TikTokers Make? Earnings by Follower Count

Updated 2026-08-30

Short answer

TikTokers are paid for qualified views, gifts, sales and sponsorships. They are not paid for followers. At 10,000 followers the Creator Rewards Program pays about $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified US views, A month at the 100,000-view entry minimum works out at $40 to $100 if every one of those views qualified — and in practice fewer do, because only views from the eight eligible countries, on videos over a minute, watched five seconds or more, count at all. The real money at that size is brand deals: reported rate cards put 10K-100K accounts at $200 to $800 a post and 100K-1M accounts at $800 to $5,000. A 100,000-follower creator who posts daily and stacks Creator Rewards, TikTok Shop and one sponsorship a month lands nearer $1,000 to $6,000. At the top, the 50 highest-paid creators split $1.02 billion in 2026, while a survey of 2,000 creators put 96% of them under $100,000 a year.

How much do TikTokers make?

Most TikTokers make somewhere between nothing and a few hundred dollars a month. A 10,000-follower account earns roughly $20 to $50 a month from TikTok itself, plus $200 to $800 for a sponsored post when a brand hires it.

The spread at the top is enormous. Forbes valued its 2026 list of the 50 highest-paid creators at $1.02 billion in collective earnings, up 20% from $853 million the year before. Those are the names people picture when they ask this question, and they are a rounding error in the population.

The wider picture is much flatter. A survey of 2,000 creators found that 96% of creators earn less than $100,000 a year. Most sit far below that. So the useful question is not what TikTokers make. It is what a TikToker with your follower count can switch on, and what each of those switches pays.

That is how this page is built. Every income stream is listed with the follower gate that opens it and the rate people actually report. If you want to run your own account through the numbers instead, our free TikTok earnings calculator does the arithmetic for you.

How much does TikTok pay per follower?

TikTok pays nothing per follower. It pays per qualified view, per gift, per sale and per sponsorship, and your follower count only decides which of those you are allowed to turn on.

The closest thing to a per-follower price is a brand rate card, and the maths there surprises people. Take the reported tier rates: nano accounts of 1K to 10K followers at about $50 to $200 a post, and macro accounts of 100K to 1M at about $800 to $5,000. Those are per-post prices for a whole band, not per-follower rates. A nano account at the bottom of its band earns far more per follower than one at the top: $50 to $200 a post is worth $50 to $200 per 1,000 followers at 1,000 followers, but only $5 to $20 per 1,000 at 10,000 followers. The same squeeze repeats in every band.

So the price per follower falls as the account grows. Small accounts get more per head because their audience actually watches and buys. Big accounts win on volume, not on rate. Anyone quoting you one flat dollar figure per follower is selling a calculator, not a fact.

There is a second reason follower count is a weak predictor. TikTok serves videos on the For You page to people who do not follow you. A 2,000-follower account can pull a million views, and a 200,000-follower account can post to silence. The pay follows the views. If you want a market price for the audience itself rather than the earnings, our account value by followers data and the account worth calculator both price accounts tier by tier.

TikToker earnings by follower count: 1K to 1M

The table above is the short version. The right-hand column is a blended estimate, not a promise: it stacks the reported brand rate cards on top of the Creator Rewards band and assumes the creator posts most days and uses more than one stream. A dormant account at any tier earns zero.

At 1,000 followers you can go LIVE and take gifts, and that is it. There is no Creator Rewards, no Shop affiliate, no ad money. Income here comes from a handful of loyal viewers on a regular LIVE schedule, or from a small brand paying $50 to $200 for a post. Plenty of 1,000-follower accounts make nothing at all, because the owner never goes live and never pitches anyone.

At 10,000 followers the biggest door opens. Creator Rewards needs 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days, so an account that just squeaks in is earning on about 100,000 views. Only some of those views are qualified views, and TikTok publishes no ratio — so the honest ceiling is $40 to $100 if all 100,000 qualified, and the real figure sits below it by however much of your audience falls outside the eight eligible countries. That is the number the calculator farms never show you. Brand deals at $200 to $800 a post are where the tier actually earns.

At 100,000 followers the streams start to compound. A creator at this size pushing a million views a month is looking at roughly 500,000 qualified views, or $200 to $500 from Creator Rewards. One macro sponsorship at $800 to $5,000 dwarfs it. Add TikTok Shop commission on top and $1,000 to $6,000 a month is a fair working range.

At 1,000,000 followers the account becomes a business with inbound demand. Reported rates run $5,000 to $50,000 and up per post for creators above a million followers. Ten million monthly views is around 5 million qualified views, or $2,000 to $5,000 from Creator Rewards alone. Most creators at this level also sell their own products, because owning the margin beats renting the audience out.

What TikTok pays you directly: Rewards, gifts and subscriptions

Three streams come out of TikTok's own pocket, and each has a hard follower gate. Creator Rewards opens at 10,000 followers plus 100,000 views in the last 30 days, and also needs you to be 18 or over, on a personal account rather than a business one, and in an eligible country. It pays about $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified US views. Our breakdown of what TikTok pays per 1,000 views runs that band at every view count.

Country is the quiet multiplier. Creator Rewards runs in eight markets: the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico. Only views from those eight count as qualified. The same video with a US audience and a non-qualifying audience pays wildly different money, which is why the Creator Rewards countries list is worth reading before you pick a niche.

LIVE gifts open much earlier, at 1,000 followers and age 18. Viewers buy coins, send gifts, and those become diamonds you cash out. TikTok does not publish a diamond value or a withdrawal minimum. The widely circulated figures of roughly $0.005 per diamond and a 50% platform cut are creator-reported working estimates, not official TikTok policy. Our guide to LIVE gift values explains how the coin-to-cash chain works.

Subscription is the third. TikTok's own announcement says creators can build three subscription tiers and must be 18 or over with at least 10K followers and 100K video views in the past calendar month, or meet LIVE eligibility. It is a small stream for most people, but it is recurring, which nothing else on this list is.

Payouts from Creator Rewards land on the 15th of each month once your balance clears $50.00 USD. Below that, it rolls forward. If you are not sure which of these three you already qualify for, the free TikTok monetization checker shows where an account stands today.

What brands and shoppers pay: commission and sponsorships

The two biggest lines on most TikTokers' income are not paid by TikTok at all. TikTok Shop affiliate pays you a cut of every sale you drive, and it opens at 5,000 followers. Below that, creators enter the TikTok Creator Pilot Program instead, which is the on-ramp to the same system.

Commission rates are set by sellers, so they vary a lot. Reported data puts the average US TikTok Shop affiliate commission at 13.02%, with categories running from about 5% on electronics to 30% on beauty and wellness, and LIVE shopping deals at 20% to 30%. At 15% on a $60 product, forty sales is $360. That is a very different sport from chasing a million views. The full entry rules sit on our TikTok Shop affiliate requirements page.

Brand deals have no platform gate at all. A brand can pay a 900-follower account if it likes the content. In practice, rate cards cluster by size: micro accounts of 10K to 100K followers at roughly $200 to $800 per post, macro accounts at $800 to $5,000, and 1M-plus at $5,000 to $50,000 and up. Usage rights, exclusivity and paid-ad whitelisting all push those numbers higher.

This is why two accounts with identical follower counts earn completely different money. One is a hobby that collects view payouts. The other pitches brands, joins Shop campaigns and treats the account as inventory. The follower number is the ticket. What you do after you are inside decides the paycheck.

What is a 100,000-follower TikTok salary?

A 100,000-follower TikTok account realistically brings in about $1,000 to $6,000 a month when the creator posts most days and uses more than one income stream. A single sponsored post at that size is reported at $800 to $5,000, and that one deal is usually the biggest line on the invoice.

Here is the build. A million monthly views is roughly 500,000 qualified views after the filter, which is $200 to $500 from Creator Rewards. One macro sponsorship adds $800 to $5,000. TikTok Shop commission on a handful of well-matched products adds a few hundred more. Subscriptions and LIVE gifts round it out.

It is not a salary, though, and calling it one hides the risk. There is no floor, no sick pay and no contract. A month with no brand deal and a soft algorithm week can pay a tenth of the month before. Creators who last treat brand deals as the volatile part and Shop commission as the base, because commission keeps paying from old videos.

Niche moves this range more than follower count does. Finance, business and product-review audiences carry a much higher RPM than meme or entertainment pages with the same reach. Our RPM by niche data shows the gap, and the RPM calculator prices your own account against it.

Views, not followers, decide your paycheck

Creator Rewards pays on qualified views, and the definition is strict. The video has to run over one minute. The viewer has to watch at least five seconds. The view has to come from the For You page, and from one of the eight eligible countries. Everything else is a scroll, and a scroll pays nothing.

Video length is the rule people trip over most. A clip uploaded at exactly 1:00 can land a hair under sixty seconds after processing, which drops it out of the program entirely. Post at 1:01 or longer. Our page on the one-minute rule shows exactly where that line sits, and what counts as a qualified view covers the rest of the filter.

This is also why bought followers and cheap view panels pay nothing. The payout filter is built to strip artificial views out before it counts a cent. You pay the panel, the counter goes up, and the earnings line does not move. Real people watching real videos is the only input that pays.

So the shape of an account that earns is easy to describe. Original videos over sixty seconds, in one niche, aimed at a paying country, built to hold attention past the five-second mark. Get those four right and a much larger share of your raw views turns into money. Our guide to making money on TikTok walks the whole process in order. If you want the arithmetic for one specific target, how many views it takes to make $1,000 works it through view by view.

What separates the TikTokers who earn from the ones who don't

Four things, and none of them is luck. Niche comes first, because it sets your RPM and it sets which brands can afford you. Finance, software and product reviews pay several times what pure entertainment pays for the same reach. The best niches for TikTok money breakdown names them.

Audience country comes second. A US-heavy audience earns more per view, gets better brand offers and unlocks TikTok Shop demand that other markets do not have. This is the single biggest reason two accounts with the same follower count can be worth double one another.

Consistency comes third. Creator Rewards needs 100,000 views every rolling 30 days to stay useful, so one big month followed by three quiet ones does not build income. Brands also check recent posting before they send an offer.

Stacking comes fourth, and it is the one most people skip. The creators who earn well are almost never running one stream. They run Creator Rewards for a floor, Shop commission for the compounding, and brand deals for the spikes. Our page on how many followers it takes to get paid maps every gate in order so you know what to switch on next.

Getting through the first gate is the slow part. Most creators post daily for months before Creator Rewards even accepts them, and our guide to how long monetization takes explains why.

Start on the paid side of the 10,000-follower gate

Every number on this page assumes you are already inside. Creator Rewards pays nothing until you have 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in a 30-day window. Brands mostly ignore accounts under a few thousand. So the first stretch of a TikTok income is months of unpaid posting, and that is the part almost nobody plans for.

That is the gate we sell past. A monetized TikTok account at $197 arrives with 10,000+ followers and Creator Rewards already switched on, so the earnings maths above works from your first upload. A pre-grown option at $97 carries 1,000+ real followers, which is exactly where LIVE gifting opens, and you can see that tier on our 1K follower account page. An aged account at $57 gives you account history to build on. Pre-grown and monetized accounts are grown with real, organically grown followers.

Buying an account is against TikTok's terms of service. That is a platform rule, not a law. It is also why the handover matters more than the price. A stranger on a marketplace can keep a recovery email and come back for the account later. Our handover closes that door: every account is vetted before it is listed, delivered with the full credential set, and handed over with a complete lockdown changeover. New password. New recovery email. New phone. Every old access point closed, so the account is only yours.

We sell direct at one fixed price. No bidding, no brokers, no escrow wait. Full credentials land within 24 hours of purchase, and every account is covered by a 7-day money-back guarantee and a 30-day account guarantee. Browse the current stock of TikTok accounts for sale or compare tiers on our buy monetized accounts page. You skip the qualifying grind and spend your effort on the only thing that actually pays: watch time.
